American, Canadian and British citizens do not require a visa to visit Schengen countries (most European countries),
if the duration of their stay does not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period. From 2024 you will require an ETIAS.
For American Citzens
You do not need a visa for short trips to EU countries, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein if the following conditions are of the following apply:
- you are staying for 90 days or less in a 180-day period
- you are visiting as a tourist or for certain other reasons

For British Citizens

The Schengen Borders Agreement permits citizens from certain countries, including Canada, United States and United Kingdom to travel freely to 26 European
countries within the Schengen area for up to three months for tourism or business.

The European Union is introducing ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) in 2024. It will be compulsory for all
travellers who do not need a visa to travel to Europe.
ETIAS is an electronic system that allows Europe to keep track of visitors to the Schengen area, for those who do not need visa to enter area.
It is similar to Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), which is for visitors to the USA.
ETIAS will cost €7.00 and will be valid for 3 years, or until your passport expires, whichever is sooner.
